2011 Epilogue

"Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen,
Voices whisper in the trees, "Tonight is Halloween!"
~Dexter Kozen

It was a little crazy when the forecast for Saturday, Oct. 29 was for snow. That meant 2 days before trick-or-treat night we couldn't do anything outside while snow, freezing rain and wind battered our haunt. Two days after that we had clear skies which allowed props and a forest of dead trees to be installed. We had an amazing Halloween night, with an estimated 300+ guests coming to Windy Hill Cemetery and forest. Through the generosity of visitors to the haunt, we also collected $220 for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

We couldn't have pulled off an event such as this without the huge amount of help, support and encouragement from our friends and neighbors: The Lahah's (Bobbi, Paul, Jake and AJ: you guys rock!); Don Ault; Christi Fearson Ruhstorfer; Chris Lawson; Dave Wren; Jay Richardson; and of course my wife Julie.

And thanks to our neighbor John Thompson for taking so many beautiful photos and putting together a montage and uploading it to YouTube (you can find it here). A photo gallery will be added on our Photos page once we get past the holiday season.

Until next fall, happy haunting....

John, December 2011
